Custom Talus Spacer

Jajal Medical provides a CT-based customized solution for total talus replacement.  Total talus replacement could be an ideal solution for trauma cases where the neighboring joint has substantial cartilage. As a design input bilateral ankle CT was used for 3D talus creation. The healthy side talus was mirrored and registered on the damaged talus.

Accurate registration using Mimics and Freeform assures the congruency and restoration of pre-deceased condition for the patient. Considering the variation of sizes of the talus due to soft tissue balancing, pre-op planning design proposals consist the at least three sizes (Neutral, Upsize and Downsize).  Multiple sizes of talus along with T handle instrument for size optimization in the OT ensures a complete solution for talus replacement within the desired timeline.
